Resume overview. This resume summarizes the work experience and education of an individual who does maintenance work on advanced electronics systems.
Note: This resume has not been designed as an online or web resume. Web resumes take advantage of the web and online delivery medium in ways; this example is simply a rendering of the printed version.
Heading. This writer left-aligns his puts her name and then left- and right-aligns his address, phone number, and pager number in the heading portion of his resume.
Professional summary. This writer presents a detailed-packed sentence that summarizes his work experience at this key point in the resume. Resume experts believe that this point—about one-third to one-fourth of the way down the page—is where people first start looking at a resume.
Experience section. This writer presents his work experience, job by job, in reverse chronological order. Notice that he displays his job title, italicized in a larger type size, first—then lists the dates and name and address of the company. He summarizes his work and responsibilities with the company in a regular paragraph, but then presents his important accomplishments in a bulleted list.
Education section. Notice that this writer does not list any academic education at all and lists his military and corporate training instead. This is good material for a resume. Keep track of all the special seminars and training courses you attend, and consider listing them in your resume.
Design. This resume has a nice, solid, well-organized design. The headings and solid line across the page clearly mark out the main sections of the resume. The indentation of the paragraphs shortens the lines down to a more readable length and further emphasizes the headings.
That completes the comments for this example.
