Visual Studio Code for Technical Writers
In this course, you use learn how to install and configure Visual Studio Code, set up folders and files for your VSC projects, use text completions for faster editing, create and use snippets for often-used chunks of text, the Live Preview extension to view HTML/CSS directly rendered in a web browser, and more.
Units include:
- Install Visual Studio Code.
- Change user settings, interface appearance.
- Use text completions.
- Add extensions (for example, Live Preview).
- Configure your work environment (windows for coding, output, terminal).
- Use Emmet.
- Create snippets.
- Use Markdown and see rendered output
- Use GitHub.
- Set up a simple programming environment (Python, JavaScript).
You use links, videos and transcripts of those videos to learn tasks, e-mail your instructor when you have questions, and send your work to the instructor for review.
